Population & Growth 

The Algerian population has grown, on average, by 2% per year over the last twenty years. Births have surpassed the threshold of 1 million per year since 2014. The improvement of the conditions of care of the population on certain diseases and epidemics has allowed an increase in life expectancy at birth. It was 72 years in 2000 and it currently stands at 78 years.
