The balance of payments has remained in deficit over the last five years. Nevertheless, this deficit has been reduced by more than a third between the first quarter of 2015 (-$8 billion) and the first quarter of 2019 (-$6 billion). This result was achieved by reducing the trade balance deficit and stabilizing the balance of services at 2 billion dollars (deficit).
